นิทรรศการ “Anthropocene (มนุษยสมัย)” สำรวจสภาวะของโลกในยุคที่มนุษย์ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงผู้อยู่อาศัย แต่กลายเป็นแรงขับเคลื่อนหลักที่เปลี่ยนแปลงระบบนิเวศ ธรณีวิทยา และสมดุลของสิ่งมีชีวิตทั้งหมดอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ คำว่า Anthropocene จึงไม่ได้เป็นเพียงศัพท์ทางวิทยาศาสตร์ หากแต่เป็นภาพสะท้อนของยุคสมัยที่การดำรงอยู่ของมนุษย์ได้แทรกซึมและครอบงำทุกมิติของโลก
ภายใต้ระบบสังคม เศรษฐกิจ และเทคโนโลยี มนุษย์ดำเนินชีวิตอยู่ในวัฏจักรของการแสวงหา การทำซ้ำ และการบริโภคอย่างไม่สิ้นสุด เราถูกหล่อหลอมให้กลายเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกลไกขนาดใหญ่ที่เรียกว่า “ทุนนิยม” ซึ่งแทรกซึมตั้งแต่ระดับโครงสร้างสังคมไปจนถึงระดับความคิด ความเชื่อ และอัตลักษณ์ของแต่ละบุคคล โดยที่เราอาจไม่ทันตระหนักว่าเสรีภาพในการเลือกของเรานั้น แท้จริงแล้วถูกกำหนดไว้ล่วงหน้า
แรงบันดาลใจของนิทรรศการนี้ตั้งต้นจากคำถามต่อ “ความใหม่” ที่มนุษย์พยายามสร้างขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง—สิ่งที่ดูเหมือนใหม่อาจเป็นเพียงการแปรรูปของสิ่งเดิมที่หมุนเวียนซ้ำภายใต้กาลเวลา ขณะเดียวกัน แม้โลกจะดูเหมือนกำลังก้าวไปข้างหน้า แต่หลายสิ่งกลับกำลังเสื่อมถอยและเคลื่อนเข้าใกล้จุดสิ้นสุดอย่างเงียบงัน ความเชื่อ ความหวัง และความก้าวหน้าที่มนุษย์ยึดถือ อาจเป็นเพียงอีกจุดเริ่มต้นของการล่มสลายในรูปแบบใหม่
ในขณะที่มนุษย์แสวงหาความสะดวกสบายและผลประโยชน์อย่างไร้ขอบเขต สิ่งมีชีวิตอื่นกลับต้องแบกรับผลกระทบจากการกระทำเหล่านั้น—ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการสูญเสียถิ่นอาศัย การเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ การถูกล่าเพื่อระบบเศรษฐกิจ หรือการสูญพันธุ์ที่ไม่อาจย้อนคืน โลกในยุค Anthropocene จึงเป็นโลกที่ความเจริญของมนุษย์ดำรงอยู่ควบคู่ไปกับการเสื่อมสลายของสิ่งอื่น
ผลงานในนิทรรศการนี้นำเสนอผ่านจิตรกรรมสองมิติในรูปแบบเหนือจริงผสมเหมือนจริง ถ่ายทอดภาพของสังคมร่วมสมัยที่เต็มไปด้วยภาพลักษณ์ที่ถูกสร้างขึ้น ความจริงที่ถูกเลือกแสดง และความฝันที่ถูกผลิตซ้ำอย่างไม่รู้จบ ในยุคที่ข้อมูลท่วมท้น มนุษย์อาจ “รู้ทุกอย่าง” แต่กลับ “ไม่เข้าใจ” ความสัมพันธ์พื้นฐานระหว่างตนเองกับโลกและสิ่งมีชีวิตอื่น
ท้ายที่สุด นิทรรศการ Anthropocene ไม่ได้มุ่งเสนอคำตอบ หากแต่เปิดพื้นที่ให้ผู้ชมตั้งคำถามต่อการดำรงอยู่ของตนเอง—ว่าเรากำลังใช้ชีวิตอย่างมีสติ หรือเพียงดำเนินไปตามระบบที่ถูกออกแบบและโปรแกรมไว้แล้วโดยไม่รู้ตัว
ภาณุวัฒน์ ไชยรถ เป็นศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ชาวไทยผู้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานจิตรกรรมร่วมสมัย โดยมุ่งเน้นไปที่ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการรับรู้ ความจริงที่ถูกสร้างขึ้น และโครงสร้างทางสังคมและวัฒนธรรม ผลงานของเขาสะท้อนถึงความซับซ้อนของการดำรงอยู่ของมนุษย์ท่ามกลางการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็ว โดยมาจากทั้งประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวและประสบการณ์ร่วมของสังคม
ภาณุวัฒน์ ไชยรถ สำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี ศิลปบัณฑิต (ทัศนศิลป์) จากคณะจิตรกรรม สาขาประติมากรรม และภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ในปี พ.ศ. 2566 และปัจจุบันกำลังศึกษาต่อในระดับปริญญาโท สาขาศิลปศึกษา (ทัศนศิลป์) ที่สถาบันเดียวกัน
ภาณุวัฒน์ได้รับการยอมรับในระดับประเทศจากรางวัลสำคัญหลายรายการ เช่น รางวัลยอดเยี่ยม สาขาศิลปะสองมิติ จากโครงการ Young Thai Artist Award ประจำปี 2566 และ 2567 รวมถึงรางวัลเหรียญเงินจากโครงการศิลปาธรสร้างสรรค์ศิลปกรรมร่วมสมัยของศิลปินรุ่นเยาว์ ครั้งที่ 39 และ 40 ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงศักยภาพและบทบาทของเขาในฐานะหนึ่งในศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ที่กำลังมีส่วนร่วมในการขับเคลื่อนวงการศิลปะร่วมสมัยของไทย
ผลงานของเขาได้รับการจัดแสดงในเวทีและสถาบันศิลปะสำคัญหลายที่ เช่น หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร รวมถึงนิทรรศการต่าง ๆ เช่น Young Thai Artist Award, STATUS และนิทรรศการศิลปะร่วมสมัยอีกหลากหลายรายการ ในกรุงเทพมหานครและในจังหวัดนครปฐม

The exhibition Anthropocene examines the condition of a world in which human beings are no longer merely inhabitants, but have become the primary force shaping ecosystems, geological formations, and the delicate balance of life itself. The term Anthropocene thus extends beyond scientific classification; it reflects an era in which human existence has permeated and come to dominate every dimension of the planet.
Within the frameworks of social, economic, and technological systems, human life unfolds in cycles of pursuit, repetition, and endless consumption. We are gradually shaped into components of a vast mechanism known as capitalism—one that operates not only at the structural level of society, but also within our thoughts, beliefs, and identities. In this condition, what we perceive as freedom of choice may, in fact, be predetermined.
The exhibition draws its inspiration from a critical inquiry into the notion of “newness.” What appears as new may merely be a transformation of the familiar, endlessly reconfigured across time. While the world seems to move forward, many aspects simultaneously regress, drifting quietly toward their own dissolution. The beliefs, hopes, and progress to which humanity clings may, in fact, mark the beginning of another form of collapse.
As humanity continues to pursue convenience, profit, and limitless consumption, other forms of life are left to bear the consequences—through habitat destruction, climate change, exploitation for economic gain, and irreversible extinction. In the Anthropocene, human advancement exists in parallel with the deterioration of all else.
The works presented in this exhibition take the form of two-dimensional paintings, merging surreal and realistic visual languages. They reflect a contemporary world saturated with constructed appearances, selective truths, and endlessly reproduced dreams. In an age of overwhelming information, humanity may “know everything,” yet fail to understand the fundamental relationship between itself and the natural world.
Ultimately, Anthropocene does not seek to provide answers. Instead, it opens a space for reflection—inviting viewers to question their own existence: whether we are living with awareness, or simply moving within systems that have already been designed and programmed beyond our perception.
Phanuwat Chairot is an emerging Thai artist whose practice centers on contemporary painting, navigating the intersection between perception, constructed reality, and socio-cultural structures. His works often reflect on the complexities of human existence within rapidly shifting environments, informed by both personal and collective experiences.
He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University in 2023, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Art Education (Visual Arts) at the same institution.
Phanuwat has been recognized through several prestigious national awards, including the Outstanding Award in Two-Dimensional Art, Young Thai Artist Award (2023, 2024), and the Silver Medal Prize at the 39th and 40th Silpa Bhirasri Creativity Grants for Contemporary Art by Young Artists. These accolades position him among a new generation of Thai artists contributing to the evolving contemporary art landscape.
His works have been exhibited on major platforms and in institutions, including the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), as part of exhibitions such as Young Thai Artist Award, STATUS, and other contemporary art showcases in Bangkok and Nakhon Pathom.
